Bailout Policy
Last Updated: March 28, 2026
IMPORTANT: The Bailout feature is a supplemental personal safety tool.
It is NOT a substitute for emergency services. In any situation
involving risk to life or physical safety, call 911 (or your local
emergency number) immediately.
Invitrr's Bailout feature is designed to help users who feel unsafe,
uncomfortable, or at risk during an in-person event. It provides a
quick, discreet mechanism to get help and exit a situation. This policy
explains exactly how the feature works, what it does and does not do,
and the responsibilities of everyone involved.
1. How the Feature Works
When you activate Bailout:
- You enter your PIN to confirm the activation is intentional
- Your designated emergency contacts receive an alert with a
predefined message
- You are connected with available community volunteers who can assist
- You receive a scripted excuse to leave (e.g., a simulated emergency
call scenario)
- A safety event timestamp is logged on your account
- You are presented with direct access to emergency services
information
2. What Bailout Does NOT Do
Read this section carefully so you understand the limits of this
feature.
- Bailout does NOT dispatch law enforcement, medical services, or
physical security personnel
- Bailout does NOT guarantee any volunteer will respond or be
available
- Bailout does NOT share your GPS location with anyone without your
explicit consent during the session
- Bailout does NOT record audio, video, or environmental data
- Bailout does NOT replace your personal judgment about safety
- Community volunteers are NOT trained security, medical, or law
enforcement professionals
- Invitrr does NOT guarantee outcomes when Bailout is activated
3. Your Bailout PIN
Your PIN is your personal security code for Bailout. It is designed to
prevent accidental or unauthorized activations.
- Your PIN is stored only on your device in encrypted storage (iOS
Keychain) — it is never transmitted to or stored on Invitrr's
servers
- Do not share your PIN with any other person, including Invitrr staff
(we will never ask for it)
- After 5 incorrect PIN attempts, the Bailout feature locks for 30
minutes as a security measure
- Set or update your PIN in Settings → Safety
- If you forget your PIN, you must reset it in Settings. There is no
server-side recovery because we do not store it.
4. Emergency Contacts
- You may designate up to 3 emergency contacts within the app
- Only designate people who have explicitly consented to serve as your
emergency contact
- Your emergency contacts will receive an automated alert message if
you activate Bailout
- Emergency contact information is stored securely and is never used
for marketing or shared with third parties
- Update or remove emergency contacts at any time in Settings → Safety
- Invitrr is not responsible for whether your emergency contacts
respond or are reachable
5. Community Volunteers
Invitrr may connect Bailout users with community volunteers — other
Invitrr members who have opted into a volunteer assistance program.
- Volunteers are independent platform users, not employees, agents, or
contractors of Invitrr
- Volunteer availability is not guaranteed at any time
- Invitrr does not vet, train, certify, or background-check volunteers
- All volunteer interactions are subject to the same Terms of Service
and Community Guidelines as all other platform interactions
- Volunteers who misuse the program, behave inappropriately, or engage
in harmful conduct will be permanently removed from the platform and
may be reported to law enforcement
By using the volunteer matching feature, you acknowledge that Invitrr
does not guarantee the qualifications, availability, or conduct of
volunteers.
6. Data and Privacy in Bailout Sessions
- Bailout activations are logged with a timestamp on your account
- Location data, if shared during a Bailout session, is used only for
that session and is not retained after the session ends
- Bailout session data may be reviewed by our safety team in
connection with a safety investigation or legal proceeding
- We do not share Bailout data with third parties except as required
by law or to protect the safety of users
- Bailout session data is retained for 90 days, then permanently
deleted unless subject to a legal hold
7. Misuse
The Bailout feature must be used only when you genuinely need assistance
or feel unsafe. Misuse — including activating Bailout falsely to
manipulate, harass, waste volunteer resources, or interfere with another
user's event — is a serious violation of Community Guidelines and will
result in permanent removal of your Bailout access and may result in
account suspension or termination.
8. Limitation of Liability
Invitrr provides the Bailout feature as a supplemental safety tool on a
good-faith, best-efforts basis. We make no guarantees about volunteer
availability, response times, the effectiveness of emergency contact
notifications, or outcomes.
Invitrr is not liable for any harm, injury, loss, or damage that occurs
in connection with a Bailout activation, the failure of a Bailout
activation, or any event that preceded or followed a Bailout activation.
Use of the Bailout feature does not create any duty of care or emergency
response obligation on the part of Invitrr beyond the features described
in this policy.
